The territory of Ifni is linked to Spain and the Canary Islands by air, sea, and, with the first one, also by land, through the Straits of Gibraltar, Spanish and French Morocco. It is connected to the Spanish Sahara through part of French Morocco.
The sea path is the most difficult one. Loading and unloading operations depend on the sea conditions, as the beach is in the open coast, without shelter from the strong north winds and, not very deep, the sea has waves of about 8 meters, being very dangerous for small boats.
By air, the airplanes of Iberia communicate the territories of Madrid, Villa Bens, Villa Cisneros and Las Palmas. On land, you can travel by car or bus and it takes about 36 hours to arrive.
From Sidi Ifni to Madrid, there are 2.634 km, to Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, 289 miles, to Tetuán, 1.225 km, to Villa Bens (Capo Juby), 521 km, to Aaiun, 664 km and to Gúera, 1.875 km. Within the territory, the most distant place from Sidi Ifni is Tilliuin, 57 km away, in the south.
